Seronera River & its valley

The Seronera River traverses the middle plains, establishing a perennial water source that draws a rich variety of fauna.   This region, due to the river and surrounding ecosystems (savanna, wooded riverbanks, kopjes), boasts one of the largest densities of large felines (lions, leopards, cheetahs) in Africa.

It is also advantageous for observing diverse fauna: hippos and crocodiles near aquatic environments, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, different antelope species, and over 500 avian species. Recommendation for visitation: Early morning or late afternoon excursions along the river yield optimal results, as wildlife is more active and lighting conditions are favorable.

Moru Kopjes & the kopjes (rock outcrops)

The rocky outcrops (kopjes) in the south-central Seronera region provide vantage points and resting areas for lions, including instances of tree-climbing behavior.
