DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT

Upon arrival at either Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), your private driver-guide from  All Tanzania Safaris will collect you and transport you to your lodging for supper and overnight stay, in anticipation of your safari departure the following day.

DAY 2: ARUSHA TO OLPOPONGI MASAI VILLAGE (WEST KILIMANJARO)

Following breakfast, we will collect you in the morning for the excursion west of Kilimanjaro to the Masai hamlet. Unwind for three hours in the beautiful natural environment, where you will observe a diverse array of animal species, including zebras and elephants, contingent upon the season. On clear days, the twin summits of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru will be seen. Prior to reaching Muddy, we will arrive at the Masai hamlet, where the Masai community will greet us with a traditional welcome song and dance, accompanied by refreshing mango juice. A native guide will present the communities before to your check-in at a hut room designed in the Masai style, where you will reside for one night.

Following your attendance, you will explore the little museum, where you will learn about the history, social structure, and tools of the Masai people, with many opportunities for inquiries and conversations. You will have a standard supper to maintain your energy levels (rest assured, vegetables will be provided for you!) Following a period of relaxation, you will encounter a midwife and herbalist in one of the decorated huts. You will get knowledge about traditional herbal medicine and the Masai’s profound spiritual relationship with the land.

Following a coffee or tea, you will embark on a herbal excursion into the bush to acquire knowledge about the plants and their use, as well as engage in potential foraging for exquisite beadwork at the jewelry shop. The day concludes with a fire-building exercise and a BBQ under the stars, followed by your overnight stay in the Masai hut.

DAY 3: OLPOPONGI MASAI VILLAGE (WEST KILIMANJARO) TO TARANGIRE

Your private safari guide will collect you from Western Kilimanjaro to Tarangire. The park is named for the Tarangire River that flows through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ serves as the sole water supply for wildlife in the region during the arid season. The vegetation is notably dense in several areas, comprising elephant grass, acacia trees, and verdant groundwater forests. The Park is renowned for its elephant herds, frequently observed gathering near the river. Giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests may also be observed. A variety of predators, including as lions and leopards, closely pursue these creatures. Tarangire National Park hosts the highest diversity of breeding bird species globally. Following a comprehensive wildlife drive in the park, you will proceed to your lodging for supper and overnight stay.

DAY 4: TARANGIRE TO LAKE MANYARA TO KARATU

Subsequent to breakfast, you will proceed to drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a rather little yet diversified park, located 120 km west of Arusha. The park is named after a tiny salt lake. It encompasses a vast expanse of the park, experiencing seasonal inundation and desiccation, and serves as a habitat for thousands of flamingos and more than 500 additional avian species. During your walk of the park, you may observe monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and, with some fortune, lions resting in the trees. The park is renowned for its varied landscapes, including expansive grassy plains, primate-populated woodlands, and cliffs adorned with baobab trees.
Following lunch and a comprehensive wildlife drive, you will proceed to your lodging for supper and overnight stay.

DAY 5: KARATU TO SERENGETI

Subsequent to breakfast, you will proceed to the rich hills cultivated by the Iraqw people, where wheat and corn are produced. We will traverse the mist-enshrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where there is a possibility of encountering baboons, leopards, or elephants amidst the dense underbrush. While traversing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will encounter the stunning viewpoint of the Ngorongoro Crater before proceeding to Serengeti National Park, where you will arrive at around lunchtime. Serengeti National Park is the largest in Tanzania, with a variety of landscapes and habitats, including grassland plains, wetlands, lakes, savannahs, and highlands. Following a comprehensive wildlife drive, you will proceed to your lodging, where you will partake in dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 6: SERENGETI (COMPREHENSIVE GAME DRIVE)

Following breakfast in the early morning, we set off with a picnic lunch for a comprehensive game drive in Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park is indisputably the most renowned wildlife sanctuary globally, unparalleled in its natural splendor and scientific significance. It possesses the highest density of plains game in Africa. The migration for which the Serengeti is best renowned. More than one million wildebeest and approximately 200,000 zebras migrate south from the northern hills to the southern plains after the short rains in October and November, subsequently moving west and north during the long rains in April, May, and June. The ancestral drive to migrate is so powerful that no drought, canyon, or crocodile-infested river can impede it. The Serengeti is indeed the habitat of the renowned Great Wildebeest Migration. Serengeti National Park is the destination for safari enthusiasts seeking an authentic African safari experience. In the late afternoon, you arrive at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 7: SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER TO KARATU

Subsequent to breakfast, depart from the Serengeti and proceed to Ngorongoro Crater for a wildlife viewing excursion. This is an opportune day to seek the illustrious “Big Five”: Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo, and Elephant. The Ngorongoro Crater is among Africa’s most renowned locations and is reputed to possess the largest concentration of species on the continent. The Crater, sometimes referred to as a ‘eighth wonder of the world,’ has gained global recognition, drawing a continually growing influx of visitors annually. While evading other vehicles may be improbable, exceptional animal observation is assured in an astonishing setting. Ngorongoro is unparalleled in Africa. The park is one of the premier locations in the country to observe the endangered black rhinoceros, housing all of the big five, and is especially favorable for year-round sightings of lions and Cape buffalo. A packed lunch will be provided at the picnic location. Following the game drive, we proceed directly to your lodging for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 8: AIRPORT TRANSFER
